The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) is clear about the translation requirements for foreign diplomas in order to apply for USMLE. Link Translations has provided translations of many diplomas in virtually all languages to ECFMG.

As per the rules of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), the USMLE translation provided by Link Translations is:

• On company letterhead, clearly identified as a translation service provider
• Bears the signature of the Link Translations linguist
• Word-by-word translations of the original documents (or legible copies of the originals)

ECFMG does not accept:

• Translation of transcribed versions of original documents
• Translations prepared by a notary who is not a government or medical school official or representative of a professional translation service
• A translation that was not signed by the translator or official or representative of the translation service
• A translation that is not a word-for-word translation of the original language document
• Also applicants are not permitted to translate their own documents

Please note that USMLE translation and documents submitted to ECFMG as part of the exam application and certification processes, including translations, are not returned.
